CORONAVIRUS (COVID -19)

The novel coronavirus has people throughout the world concerned and on alert.   Several cases have been identified in the DC Metro area and the extent of spread is evolving rapidly.

At Capital Women’s Care, we have been monitoring the situation closely and are following the guidelines set out by the Centers for Disease Control in order to best serve and protect our community.

It is our regular procedure to disinfect all surfaces after each patient visit, sterilize all instruments, and practice hand hygiene diligently throughout the day.  The staff will be taking additional measures to disinfect all areas in the office frequently.

We have asked all our staff to stay at home if they have a fever or signs of respiratory illness.   We ask that you do the same. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call our office at 301-681-3400.

For pregnant women:

There are some small reports that this virus may carry higher risk to women who are pregnant, though little is known at this time.   We do not know if the virus can be passed to the baby via the placenta, though no newborn has tested positive who was born to an infected mother.  As pregnant women are often more susceptible to respiratory illnesses, we do strongly recommend social distancing practices and limiting unnecessary travel.
